The short version
Sylistly is a styling tool, not an account-based service. You don’t sign up, and we don’t ask for your name, email, or address. The fits you save and the style answers you give are stored on your own device, not on our servers.
What stays on your device
Your saved fits, your style-quiz answers and persona, your frame and preference settings, and your streak/collection progress are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are not uploaded as a Sylistly account profile. Clearing local data from Profile or your browser removes them. If you deliberately paste a retailer URL into “Style what I own,” that URL is sent to the Sylistly server only so the page can be validated; the feature code does not add the URL to a server-side wardrobe.
Analytics
When enabled, we use a product-analytics tool (PostHog) to understand usage — which screens are viewed, fits swiped, preferences changed, links tapped, and how pages perform — so we can improve the app. These are pseudonymous event records, not anonymous aggregate statistics at collection time. They use random browser and session identifiers stored in first-party browser storage and a first-party analytics cookie. We disable automatic click capture, heatmaps, and session recording, and send only the product events described here. Sylistly does not attach a name or email unless a real account feature is introduced and you choose to use it. PostHog collection is active only when an analytics key is configured. We do not sell this data.
Shopping links & affiliates
When you tap to shop a piece, you’re sent to the retailer through an affiliate link (e.g. Skimlinks, Rakuten). These partners may set cookies on the retailer’s side to credit Sylistly a commission if you buy — at no extra cost to you. Once you’re on a retailer’s site, their privacy policy governs that visit. When the click ledger is configured, Sylistly records the product/look reference, originating surface, campaign, anonymous browser/session references, destination host, affiliate network, redirect result, and time. It does not record your retailer checkout or payment details.
Requests and service logs
Search, catalog, link-validation, and retailer-redirect requests are processed by our hosting and database providers. The application stores only the catalog and click fields described above, but infrastructure providers may keep ordinary security and request logs under their own retention settings. Final retention periods and region-specific rights must be set and reviewed before this draft becomes effective.
Who we share with
We don’t sell personal data. The only third parties involved are the analytics provider (pseudonymous product-usage events, when enabled), the affiliate networks (for commission attribution), our hosting/database providers, and the retailers you choose to visit. We don’t process payments — purchases happen on the retailer’s own checkout.
Children
Sylistly isn’t directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Your choices
You can clear Sylistly’s on-device saved data from Profile or through your browser settings. That reset also rotates the anonymous analytics identity on the next visit. Because the current product does not create an account, there is no server-side account profile to delete. A public request/opt-out contact and jurisdiction-specific rights process must be added before this draft takes effect.
